Sharing Too Much

It's been a recurring topic of conversation amongst my friends about how much you should share about your personal life online. There are a couple rules of thumb that I think are good ones:

• 1. If you don't want your mom to read it, you shouldn't put it online.
• 2. If you don't want your boss/teacher/superior of some kind to read it, you shouldn't put it online.
• 3. If you don't want your mom/boss/teacher/superior of some kind to hear about you putting it online, don't.
• 4. If you don't want to be quoted saying it, don't put it online. Why? Because "online" is like putting it public for all the world to see.
